Course descriptions
We currently have 2 levels of English for Work courses available. Each level is made up of a series of modules on different subjects, for example: Telephoning, Making Presentations, Travelling, Negotiating and Selling, Staffing and Training, etc.

Lower Intermediate
If you follow a range of Lower Intermediate modules:
- learn how to describe your place of work and what happens there, as well as how to talk about different kinds of company, their history, and what they do.
- You will learn how to make and receive telephone calls at work, including useful expressions for making phone calls, as well as the language of making decisions.
- learn how to use language effectively in order to sell things, including the language of product description and advertising.
- You will improve your business vocabulary and learn essential writing skills in English, including the analysis and practice of formal and informal writing styles used in letters and emails.
- You will learn the essential language you need to use when you travel on business, including the language of introductions, directions, and asking for travel information, as well as how to exchange basic personal information and make social conversation when you travel on business.
Upper Intermediate
If you follow a range of Upper Intermediate modules:
- You will learn how to prepare, organise and deliver persuasive presentations, including how to talk about changes, dimensions, products and pricing, and how to make a presentation more effective.
- You will improve your ability to make and receive telephone calls at work, including how to create a good impression and how to deal with different problems on the phone.
- You will learn how to contribute effectively to each stage of a negotiating process, which will involve studying the language of making suggestions, stating conditions, accepting and rejecting.
- You will develop and extend your business writing skills, including the functions of requesting, explaining, apologising and complaining.
- You will develop and extend the language you use when travelling on business, including conversational openers and closings, the language of asking favours, requesting, making suggestions, and making arrangements.
